The Federation Council approved the law on the establishment of Fund data sensing of the Earth from space

Russian senators on Wednesday approved a law that provides for the establishment of the Federal Fund of data of Earth remote sensing from space.

The Fund will be administered by the Russian Federal space Agency and include data from government and non-government spacecraft obtained and purchased at the expense of the Federal budget, and other information.

The law refers to data of remote sensing of the Earth from outer space primary data obtained directly by using equipment installed on Board the spacecraft, as well as materials resulting from the processing of such data. Spatial data are not relevant to the remote sensing of the Earth from space.

Data from spacecraft hydrometeorological, Oceanographic and heliogeophysical destination will be stored not only in the Federal Fund data, remote sensing of the Earth, but also in the unified state data Fund on the state of the environment, its pollution.

It is assumed that the data and their copies from the Federal Fund of data of Earth remote sensing will be provided for a fee at the requests of Federal, regional and local authorities, their subordinated institutions and the unitary enterprises and other legal and natural persons. Fee for provision of data from the Federal Fund will be credited to the Federal budget. The government of the Russian Federation establishes the procedure for determining the size of the Board.
