The Federation Council has charged the temporary Commission on information policy to study the situation with Polish journalist Tomasz Mazacam.

On the eve of Maracucha detained on suspicion of violation of immigration laws. Under article of the administrative code «the Submission of false information in the exercise of migration control» he was threatened with punishment up to expulsion from Russia. Mytishchi however, the court released the journalist, and administrative material was returned to the Moscow FMS for elimination of violations.

At the meeting of the Federation Council Senator Lyudmila Narusova said that the reasons for the deportation of Mateychuk called flimsy, but the true reason for the complaints began his remarks in one of talk show.

«I believe that the information Commission should examine the situation and take action, not to create in Russia a dangerous precedent of infringement of the rights of journalists,» said Narusova.

This proposal was supported by the speaker of the upper house Valentina Matviyenko, offered the Commission on information policy «to understand the situation and give an objective assessment».

Mateychuk, known for his anti-Russian statements. In the spring of 2017 he’s in the broadcast channel NTV called Soviet soldiers who participated in the great Patriotic war, «red fascists». This provoked a fight with the Russian analyst, Ruslan Ostashko.
