Elected President of Montenegro Milo Djukanovic has promised for his term of government to achieve its entry into the European Union. The words of the Montenegrin policy of the newspaper «Vijesti».

Djukanovic said that his victory means the support of the path of Montenegro to the European Union.

«I am confident that we will meet the expectations of our citizens and in the next five years will make this the last step (for entry into the EU. — Approx. ed.).

The leader of the Democratic party of socialists Milo Djukanovic won in the first round of presidential elections in Montenegro, guaranteeing themselves at least five years in positions of head of state. The politician, in particular, is known for negative statements addressed to Russia.

Earlier, the European Commission pointed to the possibility of implementation by the Republic of the conditions for accession to the European Union in 2025.
