OSCE urged to bring to justice attackers on journalists in the Urals

The OSCE representative on freedom of the media, Harlem Desir called to bring to justice involved in the attack in Yekaterinburg editor-in-chief «the Regional newspaper» Dmitry Palianina.

On the evening of 12 April Polyanina in his yard was attacked by two unknown, having hit the back of valves. According to the victim, he got bruises, concussion and a broken rib. Polyanin linked the incident with the January material in the «Regional newspaper» dedicated «municipal wars» in the capital of the Middle Urals. On Monday, the head of the press service of the regional Moi Valery Gorelykh told RIA Novosti that the attack on the journalist criminal case.

«I urge the authorities to quickly and thoroughly investigate this crime and bring to justice the perpetrators and organizers», — reads the statement of the Dezir, the press service of the organization.

Earlier, the Union of journalists of Russia said that he intends to follow the course of the investigation into the attack on Polyanina, and in the Sverdlovsk regional branch of «United Russia», the incident was considered an attempt «to destabilize public-political situation in General.»
