A resident of the Bryansk region can get 5 years in prison for attempting to set fire to a female police officer, reports the General Prosecutor’s office on Monday.

According to investigators, one day in February 2018, the district Commissioner of police arrived on the scene to check reports of violence in the family. Located on the street near his home the man swearing, disrupting public order, and she demanded it to stop. Then a disgruntled man took out a bottle of gasoline, poured them into the district then tried to fire the woman with a lighter.

As reported by the GP of the Russian Federation, the man was charged under part 1 of article 318 of the criminal code «the Threat of violence against a representative of authorities in connection with the performance of their official duties».

«The criminal case on the merits would consider the Novozybkov town court», — stated in the message of supervising Department.

The man under this article threatens till 5 years of imprisonment.
