Radical movement «the Taliban» refused to the proposal of the President of Afghanistan Ashraf Ghani to take part in the upcoming parliamentary and local elections in the country, the Agency Khaama Press with reference to the statement of the movement.

According to the Agency, the Taliban* said that the upcoming elections are «fake» and «staging», and the government in Afghanistan can only get those who are «already approved» US.

The movement also called on citizens to refuse participation in elections. The priority task of the Taliban*, according to them, remains the fight against foreign forces.

Last Saturday, after the opening of voter registration Ghani invited the Taliban* to return to the peace process as a political movement and participate in the elections. The President stressed that the elections are a key element in reforms in the country.

Combined elections to the Parliament and the district councils of Afghanistan planned for October 2018, the registration of voters in the country was launched on 14 April.
