«This is the second major crash near the village of Tsarevo for the last time. To reduce the accident rate I have decided to appeal to the Federal road Agency on construction of additional acceleration and turning lanes in this area, as well as in other places of concentration of road accident on highway between Vologda and Cherepovets» — said at the operative meeting the Governor of the Vologda region Oleg Kuvshinnikov, whose words are reported.

He added that in order to achieve a comprehensive reconstruction of the most busiest sections of this route, making it a four-lane road and equipped with dividing crash barriers along the entire length.

«It’s the busiest a section of the Federal highway in the territory of the Vologda region, and it is necessary to do so to minimize the risk of head-on collisions. I hope that in the next budget cycle, starting in 2021, such decisions will be taken,» said Kuvshinnikov.
