Prime Minister Shinzo Abe flew out on Tuesday in the US, where he will discuss during the meeting with the American President Donald trump economic cooperation between the two countries, methods of resolving the North Korean problems and the promotion of the American side in resolving the issue of abducted by North Korean special services of Japanese citizens during the upcoming summit between the heads of the USA and the DPRK.

«Regarding the issues surrounding North Korea and on economic issues I would like to confirm cooperation between Japan and the United States, as well as to demonstrate the close relationship the Japan-us Alliance. I would like to reiterate that the DPRK will remain the maximum pressure for its abandonment of nuclear and missile weapons,» — said Abe during a press conference before flying to the United States, the translation of which is published on the government website.

Earlier, Japanese Prime Minister repeatedly stated that during meetings with the President of the United States he intends to raise the question about necessity of refusal of the DPRK, not only on Intercontinental ballistic missiles, but missiles and medium-range, which can pose a threat to Japan and South Korea.

«Most importantly, I intend to make every effort to ensure that in the course of the first summit between the leaders of the DPRK and the U.S., steps have been taken to address the issue of the abducted citizens,» added Abe.

The visit of Prime Minister of Japan in the United States will be held from 17 to 19 April. His meeting with the US President Donald trump will be held in Florida. Leaders will also need to play a round of Golf.

Trump may meet in the territory of the «third» of the country with Kim Jong-UN after holding the April 27 summit of the DPRK and South Korea. As previously reported, the South Korean leader also did not rule out the possibility of holding a trilateral summit in the future between Seoul, Pyongyang and Washington. Shinzo Abe, who had previously strongly opposed dialogue with the DPRK, this time decided not to «lag» and also called for his meeting with Kim Jong-UN to solve the issue of abducted Japanese citizens. But the prospects for such a meeting is not visible.

Negotiations between Tokyo and Pyongyang about the fate of Japanese citizens abducted by the DPRK in 70-e and 80-e years of the XX century, has long been at an impasse. In February 2016, the North Korean side has stopped the investigation in this matter in response to sanctions by Japan to end nuclear and missile tests of the DPRK. The Japanese government consists of 17 Japanese nationals, victims of kidnapping in which the suspect agents of the North Korean intelligence services. The Japanese were taken secretly to North Korea, to use their personal data for the implementation of spies in South Korea under the guise of Japanese, and teaching Japanese language to the intelligence officials of the DPRK.
