A bill prohibiting the transportation of wheelchairs in the subway, needs to work, told RIA Novosti press-service of the Moscow metro on Monday, adding that I consider it extremely important to provide convenience when using the subway for all categories of citizens.

Previously, the Ministry has developed a draft uniform rules for the use of metro in Russia. The project, in particular, implies a ban on movement in the subway of children in wheelchairs. Now passengers are not permitted to transport children in wheelchairs only on the escalators. Authorized under the RF President on the rights of the child Anna Kuznetsova has declared that will appeal to the Ministry of transport to clarify the bill to ban the transportation of children in wheelchairs in the subway, as it believes that these measures are excessive and could pose a threat.

«We believe it is important to maintain the existing use of the underground in terms of its availability to all citizens. Metro as a public transportation should be convenient for those who use them every day, including for people with disabilities, parents with young children. Therefore, the portion of the document regarding the carriage of prams requires additional work», — reported in the metro in response to the request of RIA Novosti to comment on the initiative.

However, in the Moscow subway said that clearly support the proposal to ban the use of alternative forms of transportation such as roller skates, scooters, bicycles, mopeds and motorcycles, to travel on the metro stations.
