Action in memory of the victims of the arson in Odessa House of trade unions will be held on Wednesday in seven U.S. cities as well as in several countries of Europe, told RIA Novosti coordinator of the events Phil Wilayto.

After the coup d’etat in Ukraine, the activists of «antimiani» in the protest tent camp in Kulikovo field in Odessa. Day 2 may 2014 in the heart of the Greek area began a scuffle between activists of «antimiani» on one side and football «ultras» from Kharkov and Odessa, and radicals «euromayday» on the other. The fight ended with the destruction of the tent camp and the burning House of trade unions where took refuge the representatives of «Maidan». At the same time many of those who tried to escape from the crowd of radicals shot. The victims of the tragedy that day was 48 people, more than 250 people were injured.

«We need to attract the attention of the world, especially the media, to what happened in Odessa. We encourage everyone who is aware of the situation, to do something on Wednesday, to go out in solidarity with the people of Odessa», — said Wilayto.

According to him, the shares will be held at the Embassy of Ukraine in Washington, times square in new York city and close to the Ukrainian Consulate in San Francisco. Residents and guests of Minneapolis, Albany, Richmond and Blacksburg also plan memorial events.

Wilayto added that similar events will be held in 13 European countries, including the UK, Germany, Denmark, Ireland, Italy, Sweden, Switzerland and the Netherlands.

The coordinator noted that the situation in Odessa had deteriorated and warned that the number of extremist Ukrainian group plans to hold its shares in the same place, which will bring together relatives of the victims, and at the same time. «This is a very dangerous situation,» said Wilayto.

He added that in 2014, the Ukrainian authorities were not allowed many international observers to Odessa. «In 2014, when many international observers tried to visit Odessa, they were stopped at the airport and at railway station and did not allow them to visit the city. The three of us started up,» said the coordinator.

Wilayto, believes that Americans would be shocked that the US supports the Ukrainian government, which is sympathetic to such historical figures as Pro-Nazi Ukrainian leader Stepan Bandera.
