The decisions of the European court of human rights (ECHR) is not directed against Russia, and in most cases coincide with its own interests, Deputy Chairman of the constitutional court of the Russian Federation Sergey Mavrin.

He noted that the vast majority of cases, the ECHR renders its decisions not against a state party to the European Convention on human rights, and in a broad sense, acts in its own interests. Mavrin has noted that to understand these interests as coinciding with the interests of those citizens whose rights have been violated, and who failed to protect them at the national level.
