The Polish Prosecutor’s office has completed the exhumation of remains of victims of the plane crash near Smolensk, which in 2010 killed President Lech Kaczynski, said the official representative of the Prosecutor General of the Republic Eva Bialik.

«At the cemetery in Gdansk ended with the exhumation of the latest of the victims of the crash near Smolensk,» she said.

The exhumation of the remains of the victims that were not cremated or disinterred earlier, was conducted in the framework of a new investigation into the causes of the crash, held in Poland. Just brought to the surface the remains of 83 people, including the President and his wife Maria. Several relatives of the victims strongly opposed the exhumation.

The plane Tu-154 of Polish President Lech Kaczynski in 2010, crashed during landing at the airport «Smolensk-North». Onboard there were 96 persons: 88 passengers and eight crew members flying at the mourning events in Katyn. They all died. The interstate aviation Committee in 2011 issued a final report on the results of technical investigation according to which the immediate cause of the crash is recognized as the crew’s decision not to leave on spare airdrome, and the system reasons — deficiencies in flight operations and crew training.
