The price of Brent crude oil on Thursday for the first time since November 25, 2014 exceeded the psychological mark of $ 80 per barrel. This is evidenced by the auction.

As of 13:09 GMT the cost of July futures for North sea petroleum mix of mark Brent have grown on 0,71% — to 79,84 USD per barrel. During the auction it reached and of 80.12 USD. The price of the June futures on WTI increased by 0.83% to 72,06 dollars per barrel.

The jump occurred after the publication of statistics on stocks of «black gold» in the U.S., which fell for the second week in a row: commercial stocks dropped by 0.3 percent to 432,4 million barrels and expected a more modest decline of 0.18 percent.

Also, oil prices are rising because of the situation around Iran. On the eve of the French oil company Total announced that it may withdraw from the project «South Pars 11» in Iran because of U.S. sanctions.

«Geopolitical concerns remain. Concerns about the supply of oil remains the most important factor for the market after the United States decided to withdraw from the agreement with Iran on its nuclear program», — said the Agency Reuters, the head of research of commodity markets Julius Baer Norbert Ruecker.

Last week, the United States withdrew from the agreement with Iran on its nuclear program made in 2015. Donald trump announced the restoration of all sanctions against Iran including secondary, that is, against countries doing business with Iran.
