The number of aviation accidents in Russia in 2017 decreased in comparison with the previous year by more than 40%, according to the emergency situations Ministry.

As can be seen from the comparative characteristics of emergency situations published on the Ministry’s website, in 2017, the country registered 23 plane crash (previous year — 39), which is lower increased by 41.03%.

Earlier it was reported that the number of deaths in aviation accidents in Russia in 2017 decreased in comparison with the previous year by nearly 77%, and affected by them — 74%.

Most aviation incidents and accidents occurred on the territory of Privolzhsky and Central Federal districts (25%), and less in the far Eastern and southern Federal districts (10%). The greatest number of incidents with aircraft are registered in the Central and Volga Federal districts (28%), and helicopters — in the Volga Federal district (40%).

The highest accident rate in 2017 was the aircraft X-32 Bekas, Yak-52 and An-2 and helicopters Mi-2, Robinson R44, Bell 206 and 407, Eurocopter-120.
