A research group at Dresden technical University, examined the characteristics of «violating the laws of physics» EmDrive engine and found no compelling evidence that it works as the developers say. The results of the observations, the scientists presented at the Space Propulsion conference in Seville.

During the study experts found that the thrust is within the engine exists, but it is too small, and these indicators are inaccurate. Effect, the magnitude of which is comparable to the measurement error caused by interaction between the magnetic field of the cables and amplifier and Earth’s magnetic field.

«This clearly shows that the «rod» does not come from the EmDrive, but from some electromagnetic interference. We used as many twisted or coaxial cable, but eventually, some of the magnetic field penetrated through our cables and connectors,» the scientists write.

EmDrive is a conical chamber resonator generating waves by magnetron. According to the statements of the creators, this device allows you to convert the radiation into thrust. At a certain geometry of the cone, the machine will move in the direction of the narrow part with a very small force, if inside it will «walk» microwave. However, the application of these same developers, this behavior is impossible from the point of view of the laws of physics — like manner the movements, which are not spent, neither the fuel nor produces a directed beam of radiation, contrary to the law of conservation of momentum.

«Violating the laws of physics» engine has been repeatedly criticised. In the scientific community have often put forward the assumption that the EmDrive does not violate any laws of physics or does not work.
