Ukrainian journalists in Russia are not threatened, told RIA Novosti Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Grigory Karasin, commenting on the possible actions against the Ukrainian media in response to the actions of Kiev against Russian journalists.

«Ukrainian journalists in the Russian Federation are not threatened,» — said Karasin.

In Kiev on the morning of may 15, detained the head of RIA Novosti Ukraine, and in the night he was transferred to Kherson. The journalist is suspected of treason and support for the breakaway republics of Donbass. He faces up to 15 years of imprisonment. On Thursday the court in Kherson arrested Wyszynski of 60 days without possibility of bail. The defense intends to appeal the decision.

Also many hours were raided office of RIA Novosti in Kiev and home to some of its employees. For questioning in the case has caused 47 people. The Kremlin has strongly condemned Ukraine’s actions, vowing to retaliate. Moscow has sent to Kiev a note of protest with the requirement to stop violence against media representatives.

This is not the first in recent times, the tyranny of the SBU. In late April, security forces detained Elena Odnova, the head of the Crimean branch of the organization «Volunteers of Victory» that helps veterans. She came to Ukraine to relatives and even under the new laws of the country prohibiting the ribbons, was not carrying anything illegal. The inhabitant of the Crimea was also accused of treason.
