Russians live not long enough yet, and this excludes the possibility of raising the retirement age, said the business Ombudsman Boris Titov.

Previously, the newspaper «Kommersant», citing sources in the White house announced that Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday will hold a meeting with members of the Cabinet, which will discuss the prospects of raising the retirement age.

«At the moment the average European male living 82 years, the average Russian is 70.5 years. 40% of men do not live to retirement. So I am sure that the lack of life expectancy of Russians precludes increasing the retirement age to offer» — quoted Titov’s press service.

He stressed that pension reform must proceed from the fact that the pension is the payment of the debt to the citizen and raising the retirement age — the General trend in developed countries, but to apply it is necessary only with regard to the real conditions of the country.

«Today, ten employees comprise six pensioners who did not save up for their retirement, therefore, from this and all the imbalances of the pension Fund. We must all «Soviet» pensioners and older in 1967 to a separate Fund of the older generation and the responsibility for it lay on the budget. And those who started working at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s, may continue to accumulate — but only for himself and not for others. Then all the balances will be back to normal,» — said Titov.Titov explained why raising the retirement age is impossible© Informatisational calculator
