The Chairman of the Committee on education, science, youth policy and sports of the state Council of Crimea Vladimir Bobkov in an interview with RT commented on the intention of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko to use the Crimean bridge for relations with the Kuban.

«Actually, it’s a clown looks like. Indeed, the arguments of the Kiev end. <…> Today the Ukrainian society, unfortunately, absorbs this nonsense, but that, in my opinion, Ukraine has the information environment gives serious cracks,» said Bobkov.

As the official said, in Ukraine there is «a huge amount of economic hardship».

«Is exacerbated by the stratification of society. Those things that kept people in the form of «Schengen» and even some virtual things go», — said Bobkov.

At the same time Ukrainian politicians try to distract people from pressing problems with talking about «fault» of the Crimean bridge.

«At the level of serious people who have even some academic regalia, saying that the bridge is not built. Or, once built, will crack after passing the first car. Poroshenko is trying to keep this line. But I am sure that this agony has come to an end», — said Bobkov.

Earlier, Poroshenko said that the bridge across the Kerch Strait will need the people of Russia to leave Crimea. The Ukrainian side, according to the President, intends to use it to communicate with the Kuban. Poroshenko noted that this will be possible after Ukraine «to regain control» over the Peninsula.

Crimea became a Russian region after the referendum held in 2014. Then for reunification with Russia voted more than 95 percent of the residents. Ukraine still considers Crimea its but temporarily occupied territory. However, the Russian authorities have repeatedly stated that the Crimean people made a choice in a democratic way, in full compliance with international law and the UN Charter.

Crimean bridge, whose length is 19 miles, was the longest in Russia. It is now open for cars and buses. The fall is expected to start the truck, and at the end of next year trains.
