Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Hope Savchenko appealed to Vladimir Putin asking for clemency 66 serving sentences in Russia Ukrainians.

In her opinion, to release them you need to use «any legal means». Such a move could establish relations between the two countries, she said.

«I am convinced that the Ukrainian and Russian peoples will live in peace,» reads the letter published on page Savchenko in Facebook.

The message included a list of the convicts in Russia are citizens of Ukraine.

A Russian court sentenced Savchenko to 22 years in prison for his involvement in the murder of journalists in the Donbass. At the end of may 2016, she was pardoned by the President of Russia, Savchenko and then returned home. She later stated that it was ready to become President if the people support it.

Now Savchenko is under arrest. According to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, she was planning attacks in the Parliament building and the government quarter. She faces from five years imprisonment to life sentence.
