French actors Gerard Depardieu and Pierre Richard unable to make a film about Mordovia, where they will tell the audience about the Republic, said in an interview with RIA Novosti the head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov.

The President of the Russian Federation of January 1, 2013 signed a decree granting Russian citizenship to French actor Gerard Depardieu, who has retained French nationality. Later, the actor permanently residing outside of Russia, received a residence permit in Saransk.

«Now Depardieu together with Pierre Richard wants to make a documentary about Mordovia. He wrote the script, I read, made some comments and we agreed to return to filming after the world Cup (soccer). According to the script, the film starred Depardieu and Richard, which introduces viewers to the Mordovia», — said Volkov.

According to him, it was an offer actors.

«This is their proposal. We discussed joint projects, some of them are implemented, some did not. But this proposal was decided to discuss after the championship», — said the head of the Republic.
