China hopes that the United States will not undertake any destructive actions in relation to trade and economic contradictions between the two countries and create obstacles to future negotiations, said Thursday foreign Minister Wang Yi at a joint press conference following talks with US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo.

«We hope that the United States would not take unilateral destructive steps and will not create new obstacles to the upcoming consultations,» said Wang at a press conference following talks with us Secretary of state.

He recalled that the delegations of the two countries on trade and economic issues held several rounds of talks, during which he reached broad consensus. The main Chinese Minister called the solution of the existing contradictions in a constructive way.

«We hope that the American side together with the Chinese will take seriously this issue», — said the head of the foreign Ministry of the PRC.

Previously, the U.S. has decided to increase current against Chinese goods tariffs by 50 billion dollars. A new duty was introduced for 1.3 thousand Chinese goods — as a response to China’s violation of intellectual property rights for American products. In response, China’s state Council decided on the introduction of fees in the amount of 25% on the 106 items of goods imported from the United States.
