. The head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov in an interview with RIA Novosti told how much money was spent on preparations for the world Cup in the Republic, which will host four matches of the tournament.

The capital of Mordovia Saransk – one of the cities hosting the world football championship – 2018. There will be four matches: Peru – Denmark June 16 Colombia – Japan 19 June, Iran and Portugal on June 25 and Panama Tunisia on June 28.

«Overall, it spent about 18.5 billion rubles, including from the national budget and 7 billion rubles from the Federal to 4 billion 150 million from local budgets and from extra-budgetary sources – 7.5 billion rubles,» — said Volkov.

In addition, according to him, entirely at the expense of the Federal budget to build a stadium worth 16 billion rubles. About three billion from the Federal budget in the framework of co-financing allocated for the construction of a new airport terminal.

«There are still many facilities that we have built and repaired additionally. They are not included in the program of preparation for the championship and seemingly not have any relation to it, but at the same time, don’t be in the championship, we would not have built or would have made it much later,» — said the head of Mordovia.

As an example, he cited the construction of the neighborhood adjacent to the stadium, «Mordovia arena», where apartments could be bought at a reduced Republican 5% mortgage and in the construction of which private investors have invested about 20 billion rubles.

As another example, he cited the construction of the Eastern bypass of the city, connecting the Federal and regional highways, allowed to allow transit vehicles to bypass the city, solving transport and environmental problems. It costs 7 billion roubles.

«Or pedestrian crossings at train stations with elevators is also a legacy of the championship. Renovated the house, landscaped courtyards, changes in the scope of services.
