The Rosselkhoznadzor has documented outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in Kaliningrad, Saratov and Leningrad areas, the Agency reported on Thursday.

«In laboratory studies… in the pathological material, selected from domestic pigs kept on the territory of the personal part-time farms of the municipal entity «Pravdinsk urban environment» of the Kaliningrad region, highlighted the genetic material of the virus,» — said in the message.

Also the genome of ASF virus isolated in the pathological material, selected from domestic pigs kept on personal farms municipal Ekaterinovskaya district of Saratov region. In addition, the genome of this virus was found in material taken from the dead wild boars found in woodland on the territory of the OS’minskaya rural settlement in Luga district of Leningrad region.

According to the office, currently in a dysfunctional points specialists work gosvetsluzhbe Kaliningrad, Saratov and Leningrad areas.

The Agency repeatedly documented the ASF outbreaks in these regions. Earlier in June, the virus was detected in pathological samples from domestic pigs from private farms municipal Rtischevskogo district of Saratov region and the Guards district of Kaliningrad region.

African swine fever — a contagious viral disease of pigs that are particularly dangerous. For man, the ASF is not dangerous, but causes serious damage to the agricultural sector, as it does not give in to treatment and vaccinal prevention among animals. To stop the spread of the disease can only strict quarantine measures.
