North Korea and South Korea said on Monday the anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean war 1950-1953 by conducting business negotiations for the restoration of the lines between soldiers of the two sides, according to South Korean media.

According to them, it was the first for the last seven years meeting senior officers at the level of colonels between the two parts of the Korean Peninsula. It was held in a checkpoint in Paju district, South of the military demarcation line. As reported by Yonhap news Agency, a delegation of southerners led by Colonel Cho Yong Geun, and the DPRK was represented by Colonel Om Chan Us.

Discussed in the talks is the restoration of two lines on the Western and Eastern areas of the buffer zone between North and South Korea — to prevent incidents and resolve issues. Lines of communication ensure the communication of the military via telephone and Fax.

Two lines of communication were established initially in 2002 and 2003. In 2016 communication on the Western plot was interrupted with the closure of the South Korean industrial Park in the city of Kaesong in North Korea, but the phone line was restored there in January of this year before the winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, to the North Korean athletes were able to take part in it.

Line on the Eastern section was discontinued in 2011 and is still not working.

In addition to the military of DPRK and South Korea will establish a connection between the military courts of the two States, using international communication channels.
