Russian and American senators at the upcoming Federation Council meeting on 3 July will discuss the current state of inter-parliamentary relations, the relations between the countries ahead of the summit Russia-the USA, combating terrorism and cooperation in the middle East, reports the website of the Federation Council on Friday.

«The members of the Federation Council and the U.S. Congress will discuss a wide range of topics, including the state of inter-parliamentary relations between Russia and America, the General state of relations between our countries ahead of the summit in Helsinki,» the site says.

In addition, parliamentarians plan to discuss the possibility of the restoration of bilateral cooperation, countering terrorism, cooperation in the middle East and other topics.

On the Russian side, a delegation headed by the President of the international Federation Council Committee Konstantin Kosachev.

The American delegation will visit Moscow and St. Petersburg from 30 June to 5 July and will meet with Russian officials. A delegation of both chambers is headed by Republican Senator Richard Shelby.
