Vice-Prime Minister of Italy Matteo Salvini, known as a supporter of tough measures on the issue of migrants, said on Italy’s exit from political isolation and the return to it of the status Central player in the EU after the approval of several proposals at the summit in Brussels.

The issue of migrants has become a major at the ongoing summit. The day before after nine hours of talks, EU leaders have agreed to further restrict the entry of illegal immigrants into the EU, to actively deal with the organizers of the traffic and create control centres for migrants.

«I am pleased and proud of the results our government in Brussels. And yet it moves… And we started!» enthusiastically he commented on the results of the summit (policy quoted by his press service).

According to Salvini, also heads the interior Ministry of Italy, some of «our numerous proposals» were adopted, on the other «will still have to work,» but «in the end, Italy came out of isolation, returned to the role of the main player.»

As reported earlier, Prime Minister of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, the EU has refused from the practice of forced relocation of migrants – that is, countries which do not wish to accept such «guests» can now demonstrate a «European solidarity» in this issue through financial support. This was a victory of Hungary and Poland, forcibly refusing to accept asylum seekers.
