Diplomats of Russia and Finland were discussed during the bilateral consultation in Helsinki on Friday, the aspects of the upcoming meeting of presidents of Russia and USA Vladimir Putin and Donald trump, told journalists the Director of Department of European cooperation of the Russian foreign Ministry Andrey Kelin.

The meeting of Putin and trump will be held in Helsinki on 16 July. The Kremlin earlier reported that at the summit the presidents will discuss the prospects of further development of bilateral relations, topical issues of the international agenda. This will be the first full meeting of the leaders of the two countries without reference to the summits. A year ago, Putin and the tramp first met in Hamburg on the sidelines of the G20, then briefly spoke in Vietnam in November 2017 at the APEC summit.

I must say that the Finnish colleagues with his hand ready, in the sense that the President of Finland Sauli Niinistö intends to hold bilateral meetings with Putin and trump, prepares its agenda, it announced yesterday. Therefore the Finnish side informed us in detail about what the questions and results they would like to see from the discussion of these issues — in particular, Arctic issues,» — said Kaelin.

According to him, an exchange of views with the Finnish side in General is very good, diplomatic consultations are held several times per year and cover almost all European themes, including international organizations, security issues, interaction with the EU political-military matters.
