U.S. Ambassador to Estonia, James D. Melville, Jr. resigned because of dissatisfaction with the statements and policies of U.S. President Donald trump in respect of the countries-allies of the United States, according to the publication Foreign Policy, citing the message of a diplomat in Facebook.

According to the publication, the Ambassador gave an opportunity to view messages only to his friends in the social network, however, the publication was able to access it.

«For a President to say that the EU «was created to use US to attack our piggy Bank» or that «NATO is as bad as NAFTA», is not only wrong in fact but also proves that it’s time for me to leave», — quotes the edition of the message Melville.

He added that his last working day will be July 29, despite the fact that the American administration have to find him a replacement.

James D. Melville worked as a diplomat for about 33 years and in 2015 he held the position of Ambassador to Estonia. As a diplomat Melville managed to catch six U.S. presidents and 11 secretaries of state.
