The international community, including the U.S., will be forced to recognize the Russian status of Crimea, another option is simply no one, said RIA Novosti Deputy Chairman of Committee of the Crimean Parliament for interethnic relations Yuri HEMPEL.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald trump, answering a question of journalists, whether to recognize the Russian claim to the Crimea, said: «we’ll See».

«The international community and especially the United States sooner or later will be forced to recognize the Crimea part of the Russian Federation. Another option is simply no one,» said HEMPEL.

According to him, Western countries take advantage of the constructive development of relations with Russia.

«Such a powerful state as Russia are interested in the United States. Russian Federation today has a fairly good economic performance and strong army, so with such a country will have to be considered,» said HEMPEL.

Crimea became a Russian region after held there in March 2014 referendum in which 96.77% of voters of the Republic of Crimea and 95.6% of residents of Sevastopol voted for joining Russia. Crimean authorities held a referendum after a coup in Ukraine in February 2014.

Ukraine still considers Crimea its but temporarily occupied territory. The Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that the inhabitants of Crimea democratically in full compliance with international law and the UN Charter voted for reunification with Russia. According to the Russian President, the question of Crimea «closed permanently».
