Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has accused Thursday of neighboring Colombia in sending armed groups into the country to destabilize the situation in the border area.

«The paramilitaries are infiltrating across the border to harm the Venezuelan population that lives in our beloved land, our territory to carry out a set of provocations», — quotes the statement Maduro Agency AVN.

According to the President, these plans are the Colombian oligarchy and the U.S. government.

Maduro again called on the armed forces to be alert. «I again repeat the order of the General headquarters with the Supreme military command – the maximum willingness to ensure peace,» the President said.
