Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill, on Friday arrived in Yekaterinburg, where he will hold a meeting of the Holy Synod and to visit places associated with the last months of the life of the family of Emperor Nicholas II.

«On the anniversary of the centenary of the death of the Imperial family with a special feeling, I walk on this earth. There are a lot connected with the glorification of the Tsar Martyr and the Martyr, so tragically ended its days here. I really hope along with believing people with dignity and prayer to celebrate these memorable dates», — said the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church at the airport «Koltsovo».

He expressed the hope that the attention to the tragic events of the early twentieth century will help those who have not yet had time to rethink the story, to do so, and the result of this rethinking will be the «increase in total harmony and reconciliation.» «To the historical tragedies that we have inherited from the past, was no longer a reason for our separation,» — said the Patriarch.

According to the head of the Patriarchal press service Alexander Volkov priest, subject to the execution of the Royal family «will comprehend all the words and sermons of the Primate of the Church» and will be fundamental for reflection and prayers of all Orthodox believers.

International festival of Orthodox culture «Royal days», dedicated to the centennial of the death of the family of the last Russian Emperor Nicholas II, held in Yekaterinburg from 12 to 21 July.

Members of the Royal family, their doctor Evgeny Botkin, and three servants were executed in the night of 17 July 1918 in the house of engineer Ipatiev in Yekaterinburg.
