The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill expressed his condolences in connection with death of people as a result of floods and landslides in Japan, reported on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church.

The number of flood victims in the South-Western and Central parts of Japan has increased to 204 people officially listed as missing 23 citizen, but unable to confirm the whereabouts and safety 54. Such government data earlier on Friday at a press conference in Tokyo announced the Secretary-General Yoshihide Suga.

«Please accept my deep condolences in connection with numerous human victims, which caused floods and landslides that struck Your country in the past few days», — stated in the message of condolence to Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe.

The Patriarch said that from rampant natural disaster has affected dozens of people, a large number of families homeless, caused significant damage to infrastructure and the economy of several regions of Japan.

«At this difficult time, I grieve with the Japanese people. Pray the merciful Lord comfort the family, relatives and friends of the victims, a speedy recovery of the victims, the granting of power to the authorities and rescue workers who are working on the liquidation of consequences of the catastrophe», — said the Primate of the Russian Church.
