The jury of the city of Saint Louis, Missouri has ordered Johnson & Johnson to pay 4,69 billion to compensate women who say that ill with ovarian cancer after using baby powder Baby Powder, according to St.Louis Post-Dispatch.

During the trial addressed the claims of 22 people, including six lawsuits from the relatives of deaths from cancer women. They all claimed that cancer is caused by asbestos, which is a part of the powder.

The court awarded the plaintiffs $ 550 million (for material damage) and four billion $ 140 million (for moral damages).

Johnson & Johnson has said that «extremely disappointed by the court’s decision» and promised to appeal.

This is not the first charge against the Corporation. So, earlier to Johnson & Johnson sued the American, who used the baby powder daily from 1950 to 2016.

A few years ago she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, and then she decided that her disease is «the result of the unreasonably dangerous and defective nature of talcum». Initially, the court sided with her and ordered the Corporation to pay 417 million, but a higher court reversed that decision.
