The U.S. government on August 15 will hold the largest auction for all available portions of the hydrocarbons in the us portion of the Gulf of Mexico, reported the Ministry of internal Affairs of the country.

They plan to auction areas of oil and gas a total area of over 31 million acres offshore Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida. Despite the weak interest in the last auctions, the authorities are hoping for a more active participation of companies.

We are talking about the right to work in 14 622 stations located at depths from 3 to 3,400 metres.

According to OPEC forecasts, oil production, US Gulf of Mexico in 2019 could grow by 30 thousand barrels per day to 1.71 million barrels a day. According to the us government, yet undiscovered, recoverable reserves of offshore Gulf of Mexico may be about 48 billion barrels of oil and 141 trillion cubic feet of gas.
