The head of the EC Jean-Claude Juncker sent a letter to Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, in which he expressed condolences in connection with death of people in fires in the country and said that the European Commissioner for crisis management will go to Athens to coordinate with civil defense.

«With a heavy heart that I learned of the death of many people in the devastating fires in Greece. On behalf of the European Commission I want to Express my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the victims.
