Sam the human rights activist noted that it saw «nothing that would deserve the most severe punishment.» In his opinion, Sentsov not a terrorist, and in this case «fell victim to historical circumstances».

«I hope that there would be an exchange of Oleg Sentsov and not only him, because the Council’s position is that you need to change all for all: all people, one way or another, let’s call a spade a spade, sitting on the «politics,» we – Ukrainian, and in Ukraine – our. It is necessary to change,» said Svanidze on Tuesday, responding to a question from the participants of the forum «Territory meanings on the Klyazma».

Human rights activist has described the case of Ukrainian filmmaker very bad and heavy, reminded of a long-running hunger strike. «All the conversations that he (Sentsov) only becoming healthier is in favor of the poor. The hunger strike is not a diet, this healthier not be, no one has not become healthier, it could just end badly,» continued the member of the HRC.

«We hope, therefore, that the mind of both sides will prevail, and the Russian and Ukrainian will be a big exchange, including Sentsov will survive and all will be fine,» he added.

Svanidze noted that it is enough to carefully read the materials about his business. «To be honest, nothing that would deserve the most severe punishment, I have not noticed. In my subjective opinion, he is not a terrorist… As we know, after the annexation of Crimea inhabitants of Crimea came under Russian jurisdiction; most wanted, someone like Oleg Sentsov, not wanted. And here he is in this case fell victim of historical circumstances. A difficult situation that needs to be resolved,» — said the defender.
