Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev visited on Wednesday akkordeonorchester center of the Moscow regional oncological clinic in Balashikha.

Chief doctor Vladimir Astashov told the Prime Minister that the centre is equipped with high-tech medical equipment, allowing to implement the most modern methods of diagnosis and radiotherapy of malignant tumors. According to Astashova, the total number of beds in the clinic – 690.

The chief doctor also said that in 2017 introduced a new surgical building for 250 beds. «The peculiarity of it is that 50 beds deployed in the oncological pediatric ward, which is the only one for the entire Moscow region where children receive specialized medical care», — said the Astashov.

Also, according to him, the planned construction of a new building for 440 beds. «This is a medical-diagnostic building. On the ground floor assumes the deployment of a consultative and diagnostic center for 500 visits per shift,» — said the chief doctor, explaining that the introduction of the new building will allow to reduce the time of examination of the patients and increase the number of techniques.

The new building will be deployed in eight modern operating rooms. In addition, the radiological centre inside the case.

«As for the heavy equipment that will be deployed as part of the radiological center, I must say that almost most of this equipment is being produced and will be produced in Russia», — said the Astashov.

«The plans are serious,» responded Medvedev.

Medvedev was also shown the apparatus for diagnosis – a linear accelerator and a PET/CT system for General applications.

Currently, medical services in the centre has 17 physicians, 16 nurses, 4 medical physics. It is planned that the center will receive treatment more than 2,5 thousand people will be 20 thousand diagnostic studies. As for the dispensary, the structure of the Moscow regional Oncology center are 15 sectoral offices, including a child.
