The Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the «Opposition bloc» Vadim Novinsky appealed to the heads of the security Service, interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General with a demand to stop the pressure of local authority employees of the SBU on the leadership of the dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, said on Tuesday the press service of the party.

According to Novinsky, the dioceses of the UOC interfere at all levels.

«Today, from different dioceses, there are signals that local management of the SBU «work» with carriers, that they are in any case not provided transport to those wishing to participate in the procession, which will be held in Ukraine on 27 July», — quotes the words Novinsky press service of «Opposition bloc».

According to her, Novinsky sent a Deputy request to the Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko, the head of the SBU Vasily Gritsak, and the Minister of internal Affairs Arsen Avakov with the requirement to stop the persecution of local authority employees of the SBU.

«This year, «woke up» so-called Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, deciding to roll your own event more people. And they completely work with the regional administration. Such discrimination is unacceptable», — quotes Novinsky, the press service of the party.

The feast of the Baptism of Russia July 28, celebrated in Russia, Belarus, Moldova and Ukraine. In particular, in Kiev on 27 July will be held a procession to St. Vladimir’s hill, where the Metropolitan of Kiev and all Ukraine Onufry will make prayer. In Kiev-Pechersk Lavra the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will conduct the Liturgy. While supporters of the UOC-Kyiv Patriarchate are preparing to hold their religious procession on the occasion of the day of Baptism on July 28.

In Ukraine today there are canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC-MP), which is a self-governing Church of the Moscow Patriarchate, and unrecognized by the world Orthodox Church structures — the «Kiev Patriarchate» (UOC-KP) and Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (UAOC). The UOC-MP has repeatedly reported on cases of harassment of priests and seizures of the Orthodox churches of the dissenters.
