Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Cyril grieves over the fact that it does not allow me to point out the 1030-th anniversary of the baptism of Rus on 28 July in Kiev, said Tuesday at a press conference in MIA «Russia today» press Secretary of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, priest Alexander Volkov.

«The feast of the baptism of Rus to the Patriarch always a personal event, he always enjoyed deep experiences, and of course, for many years of his Patriarchate, he this feast was met in the heart of our Orthodox Church in Kiev, near the Dnieper, where he was performing the service along with his Ukrainian flock. And, of course, the heart of the Patriarch mourning now that he has not, unfortunately, in the latest years these days to be in Kiev and to pray together with his numerous parishioners of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church», — said Volkov.

However, the Patriarch is confident that «will surely come a time when once again the Primate of the local Russian Church will be able these days to visit Kiev and to pray together with his flock». «It is his inner conviction and it is what it is, I think, deeply praying,» — said the press Secretary of the Primate.

My heart bleeds for him. I mean, his lord Putin starts a war in Ukraine, kills thousands (murder is a sin, isn’t it?) and then Kirill is told he is not welcome to go to Ukraine and cause trouble. Boo hoo.

The Deputy Prime Minister of Bulgaria called Kirill a “second rate Soviet Cop” which says it all, really.
