«There are a number of fake news on this issue,» said Pujdeme reporters in Berlin, adding that «there is no evidence that would confirm it.»

According to the former Prime Minister, the support of Russia distributed Internet bots, they «bear the entire responsibility.»

The Spanish authorities have repeatedly stated that information aimed at supporting the independence of Catalonia in the midst of crisis, spread in social networks from the territories of Russia and Venezuela. However, they stressed that they do not have evidence of the involvement of the authorities in these countries.

On the eve of the referendum on the independence of autonomy in October last year, some Spanish media announced its support of independence supporters in some «Russian hackers». So, in late September, El País published a material under loud heading «Russian hackers help to support the work of the website of the referendum», which claimed that the organizers of the vote supported the work of locked in Spain sites devoted to the referendum, with «mirrors» placed on domains outside of the European Union, particularly in Russia and Central Asian countries.
