The Russian Central election Commission has recommended the election of Viktor Minenko, earlier on the proposal of the CEC appointed to the election Commission of St. Petersburg, Chairman of the municipal electoral Committee, the decision was taken on Wednesday.

«To offer the Saint-Petersburg electoral Commission candidacy Minenko, Victor Alexandrovich, member of the St. Petersburg election Commission with deliberative vote to elect him to the post of Chairman of the Saint-Petersburg electoral Commission», — stated in the decision of the CEC adopted at the meeting on Wednesday.

At the meeting last Friday, the CEC of Russia has proposed after the resignation of the Chairman of the Petersburg electoral Committee Victor Pankevich to appoint the membership of the electoral Commission, the main Federal inspector across St.-Petersburg office of the Plenipotentiary in SZFO Victor Minenko.

Pankevich resigned at the end of June. Earlier in conversation with journalists the head of the Central election Commission, Ella Pamfilova recalled that the Central election Commission insisted on the resignation Pankiewicz from the post of Chairman of the city electoral Commission, noting that it was «not so much his fault as the trouble that he was unable to cope with the situation, because it’s pretty complicated.»
