The Petrozavodsk city court scheduled for September 18 the review of criminal case against the leader of the Karelian «Memorial» Yuri Dmitriev, who is accused of making child pornography and possession of weapon parts.

Dmitriev was detained when attempting to travel from Petrozavodsk in the framework of the investigation of the violent acts of a sexual nature. Petrozavodsk city court sanctioned his arrest on June 28. Dmitriev was transferred to the detention center in Kolpino on July 15.

Dmitriev had been under arrest from December 2016 to January 2018 and was released under recognizance not to leave. The prosecution asked to assign to him nine years in a strict regime colony.
