The head of the presidential Council on human rights (HRC) Mikhail Fedotov and journalist Nikolai Svanidze, who heads the HRC, the Commission on civil liberties and civil activity, after participating in the forum «Territory meanings on the Klyazma» checked the conditions of detention Vladimir Central.

Tuesday Fedotov and Svanidze spoke with participants of the session «Generation of goodwill» youth forum «Territory meanings on the Klyazma». According to the website of the HRC, on the same day human rights activists visited Vladimir Central prison – one of the most famous Russian prison since more than two centuries of history, which today remains a place of detention of dangerous criminals.

«Human rights defenders spoke with prisoners and staff, he checked the video surveillance system, examined the camera, common areas and Museum, said that when the jail opened the first in Russia «the Center of legal information», — stated in the message on the website.

It is noted that in the inspection of correctional institutions also took part the Commissioner for human rights in the Vladimir region Lyudmila Romanova, Vice-Governor of the region Sergey Nevzorov and chief UFSIN of Russia across Vladimir region Andrey Vinogradov.

Today, Vladimir Central is one of two prisons in the Vladimir region, it contains the most dangerous criminals and violators of the regime in the penal colonies, said in the HRC. The maximum capacity of the prison is 1221 persons, specified in the message.
