The transatlantic partnership between Europe and the United States should remain the «anchor of global stability», said Wednesday the head of the EC Jean-Claude Juncker.
Juncker held Wednesday talks with US President Donald trump, the results of which the parties failed to reach an agreement on the establishment of the working group on the resolution of trade disputes and elimination of barriers to trade and issues of mutual zeroing of duties. A significant part of the agreement were the issues of energy and the EU agreed to import more in the future, LNG from the US.
«The transatlantic partnership should remain the anchor of global stability and the driving force behind our mutual prosperity,» said Juncker, in his lecture in Washington after talks at the White house.
«The time has come to renew our partnership, based on trust, shared values and mutual interests,» he added.
According to Juncker, «thanks to the United States in Europe was restored to the world, and transatlantic relations have become the basis of global stability and prosperity. «And it is necessary today, just as it was before,» he said.
