The head of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde welcomed on Wednesday the agreement reached during the meeting of U.S. President Donald trump and the head of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.

«I was happy to know that today, the United States and the European Union have reached an agreement to work together to reduce trade barriers and together with other partners — to strengthen the WTO», — said in a statement, Lagarde issued the press service of IMF.

«The global economy can work to the benefit of all only when the country would engage constructively in resolving trade and investment disputes, without resorting to exceptional measures,» she said.

The European Union and the United States reached a series of agreements reached during bilateral meetings of the head of the cadets and trump, among them — work towards zero tariffs on industrial goods, expansion of LNG imports from the US to the EU, increase of import of soy beans.
