The construction of the railway part of the bridge across the Kerch Strait has entered the peak, the availability of important structures is estimated at more than 80%, the press service of the Ministry of transport of Russia.

The Minister of transport of the Russian Federation Evgenie Dietrich on Tuesday in the framework of the working trip visited the Crimea and Taman, where he got acquainted with the implementation of key infrastructure projects, providing a transport link between the two regions. The Minister held a meeting on the construction of the railway part of the Crimean bridge and approaches, operating road part of the Crimean bridge and plans for development of roads of the Crimea.

«Construction of the railway part of the bridge is now at the peak. The willingness of the major constructs of this part of the bridge is estimated at more than 80%. Ready 293 rail supports of the 307 project, collected 105 thousand tons from 160 thousand tons of metal stairs. It is assumed that the bridge part will be fully implemented by the end of next spring, the superstructure – by the end of summer 2019, and then begin the improvement of the railway and preparing for the beginning of the movement of trains in December 2019», — stated in the message.

Thus, according to Dietrich, the construction of railway infrastructure connecting the Crimean and the Taman Peninsula, is on schedule.

«We hope that next autumn the construction readiness will be close to 100 percent, allowing the «Crimean railway» to come to grips with preparing to run trains as scheduled charts in December of 2019″, — quotes the words of Dietrich, the press service of the Ministry of transport.

A bridge to the Crimea from the Krasnodar region — the longest in Russia, its length is 19 kilometers. The beginning of the movement of vehicles originally planned for December 2018, but the work was completed ahead of schedule. Russian President Vladimir Putin opened the automobile part of the bridge across the Kerch Strait may 15, the movement of vehicles running on 16 may. The opening movement of trains on the railway part of the bridge is scheduled for December 2019.
