The first test launch of a new Russian carrier rocket middle class «Soyuz-5» will be produced without a spaceship «Federation», as previously planned, and, perhaps, from a commercial spacecraft, told RIA Novosti in the press service of Roscosmos.

Previously it was assumed that in the first flight of the rocket «Soyuz-5» will depart from the Baikonur cosmodrome in 2022 with an unmanned version of «Federation». The second start was scheduled for 2023, when the spacecraft without astronauts must be in automatic mode, docked to the International space station. Manned flight is expected in 2024.

«The first launch of the carrier rocket «Soyuz-5» will indeed be carried out not with the manned transport spacecraft new generation of «Federation». The question concerning the payload for the first launch of «Soyuz-5″, is still open. It is not excluded that it will be a commercial payload,» said the Corporation.
