The court in the Sverdlovsk region sentenced a group of four people to imprisonment and fines for illegal hunting, in which one of them shot a random passer-by, mistaking him for an animal, said Friday the Prosecutor of the region.

On the dock there were natives of the village of Coin, brothers Ivan and Sergei Sazonov, as well as two residents of Ekaterinburg Andrey Kadnikov and Yevgeny Knyazev.

«The court has appointed to Ivan Sazonov punishment in the form of 2 years of imprisonment with serving in a colony-settlement with deprivation of the right to hunt for a period of 3 years, Andrew Kadnikovo – in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of 1 year with a probation period of 2 years, with deprivation of the right to hunt, Eugene Knyazev – in the form of a fine in the amount of 150 thousand rubles, Sergei Sazonov, in the form of a fine in the amount of 120 thousand rubles», — stated in the message.

In addition, the court satisfied the claim of the Ministry of natural resources and ecology of the region reparation in the amount of 121,5 thousand roubles caused by illegal hunting. Verdict in force has not entered.

According to investigators, the men in September 2017 illegally hunted moose near the villages of Coin and may day. Seeing a moose, the hunters shot him, and then Ivan Sazonov went home to drop off a gun while the other players butchered carcass of an elk. On the way home, in the forest, hearing the noise of breaking twigs and saw in the bushes the silhouette, as it seemed, animal, Sazonov, who was in a state of alcoholic intoxication, fired in the direction of the silhouette, according to investigators. Killing a local resident: a bullet shot hit him in the heart muscle.
