The work of the private TV channel STV in Samarqand stopped because of the display of the American movie «I am legend» and the cartoon for adults «the Full raskolbas», which are included in the list of tapes that are not recommended for viewing in Uzbekistan, said on Saturday the press service of the Uzbek Agency for print and information (UzAPI).

«The work of the Samarkand TV channel STV stopped indefinitely, and capital Sevimli channel, received a strict warning for demonstration in the broadcast of materials unacceptable character», — stated in the message.

According to the press service, the decision was made Friday at a meeting of the Interdepartmental coordination Commission for the improvement and increase of efficiency of information activities and data transmission.

Channel STV on July 21 showed a cartoon for adults «the Full raskolbas», 22 July — the movie «I am legend», said UzAPI. Tashkent Sevimli channel («Favorite») received a warning for demonstration live on July 15, the American film «Pretty woman on his head», containing erotic scenes.

According to the Agency, these tapes included the expert Commission of the national Agency «Uzbekkino» in the list of tapes that are not recommended for the demonstration and dissemination on the territory of Uzbekistan.

«Passing in the air these movies, TV violated the laws «On mass media», «On state youth policy», «On protection of children from information harmful to their health» and «On principles and guarantees of freedom of information», — stated in the message.

UzAPI warned all TV channels and other media about the need for compliance and responsibility for the dissemination of material «which could harm the younger generation and not conform to the traditions and values of the people of Uzbekistan».

Today in Uzbekistan with more than 32 million people work more than 40 TV channels, including 14 as part of the National broadcasting company of Uzbekistan, 13 regional and 15 private and five of which are broadcast throughout the Republic.
