DPRK authorities have created a special group for negotiations with Japan, said the Agency Kyodo, citing sources in diplomatic circles.

It is not excluded that the group was created in the period between April, when a summit of South Korean President moon Jae In and the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong-UN, and on the 12th of June took place the meeting of leaders of the United States and the DPRK.

Currently still unknown who exactly heads the group of negotiators, however, not excluded that this position could occupy the Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the workers ‘ party of the DPRK Kim Yong Chol, the Agency said.

After a meeting held on 12 June at the Singapore summit between U.S. President Donald trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN, the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe called for building trust with Pyongyang to address the pressing for Tokyo problems in the past kidnapped Japanese citizens.

According to the government of Japan, special services, Korea in 1970-1980 abducted Japanese whom Pyongyang used to teach North Korean spies, and also for teaching the Japanese language. The government of Japan recognizes the abduction of 17 people, although there are speculations that the abduction could be much more. The DPRK government acknowledged that there are or were 13 because of the missing Japanese.

In 1980-e years the government of Japan and the DPRK held negotiations on the establishment of diplomatic relations, but they are at an impasse when discussing compensation from Tokyo for the colonization of Korea in 1910-1945 years. Japan believes that it has compensated all that is necessary in establishing diplomatic relations with South Korea in 1965.
